Programmatic Sales Manager

Hometalk, Inc. is a lifestyle brand, publishing home and garden, food, and fashion content daily to a large audience of 7M monthly active users, 40M monthly pageviews, 3.1M email subscribers. Hometalk owns and operates three sites which include hometalk.com, foodtalk.com and upstyle.com and has created apps for iOS and Android. Additionally, Hometalk has a large presence on social media channels such as Pinterest (10M+ followers), Facebook (15M followers), Instagram (325K followers) and TikTok (209K followers) as well as CTV channels on Roku, Comcast, Amazon, Samsung and Vizio.

Hometalk is seeking an entrepreneurial, experienced, go-getter programmatic sales manager to spearhead Hometalk’s programmatic sales efforts and drive significant programmatic revenue. This is a unique growth opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a growing business unit within a popular, high-growth company looking to grow its direct sales efforts.

In this role you will be responsible for all of Hometalk’s programmatic sales. You will be expected to create new lines of business, and you will own the programmatic sales process for the company, selling PMP, native programmatic and programmatic direct offerings for Hometalk’s display, native and video inventory.


Overall Role & Responsibilities:

  • Help shape and build Hometalk’s programmatic sales strategy and processes 

  • Develop and execute sales plans, metrics, goals, budgets and revenue forecasts

  • Develop new business through prospecting and own network of contacts

  • Lead all facets of the sales cycle including prospecting and researching the marketplace, presenting, negotiating and closing sales

  • Collaborate with the team to plan and carry through on the execution of the deals

 

Requirements

  • 2+ years of programmatic sales or account executive experience, with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals (publisher side a plus)

  • Knowledge of ad serving and campaign management processes, metrics and an excellent understanding of the digital media landscape.

  • Knowledge of major SSP’s, DSP’s, trading desks, and agencies

  • An established network of contacts endemic to Hometalk Inc.’s content/brands and the proven ability to determine and connect with the right high-level decision makers and reach top-tier agencies, DSPs and brands. 

  • In-depth knowledge of Google Ad Manager

  • Experience in creating value and differentiation in the market and understanding where and how clients are accessing audiences.

  • Results oriented individual who strategically and creatively pursues business with energy and drive

  • Self-motivated, passionate and an enthusiastic, contributing team member, with the ability to work independently with management, guidance and supervision

  • Detail-oriented, organized and data-driven approach to work

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral
